In the period 3-8 July 2005, the Department-UNESCO Chair for intercultural and inter-religious exchanges shared with Kerkinaktie-Global Ministries, Utrecht, Netherlands, the organization of the Congress "Diakonia: concepts, profiles and practice ".

The highly qualified contributions to the Congress reflected the present stage of societies throughout Europe and mostly in its Eastern part. One of the main questions put in the Congress was this: What have the different Churches to undertake in many social situations, overloaded a lot by problems ?
